Rubio WoodCream is a hydrophobic coating for wood with high viscosity based on waxes and is intended for protection of vertical structures such as wooden facades, garden houses, pergolas or garage spaces, gates, fences, etc., against weather. It is applied in one layer, but it is possible to add a second layer if a richer shade is required.

Features:

• Permeable with high water-repellency – perfect adsorption of the paint into pores of the wood without sealing of the surface. Natural balance of the moisture contained in the wood with the humidity of the environment is ensured.
• Made on the basis of RMC technology with the use of UV stabilizers, suitable for most woods.
• The unique creamy structure with hydrophobic technology makes application easier, because the color does not flow down and spreads perfectly.
• Regulates humidity, repels water and has a self-cleaning effect.
• Maintenance is carried out with the same product without the need for sanding.
• Very low consumption
  • For wood in the exterior: 1 l = approx. 12-20 m², 100 ml approx. 1.2-2 m² in one layer

Instructions for use - EXTERIOR:

This surface finish is suitable for vertical structures in an outdoor environment.

• Recommended maximum wood moisture is 18%; the wood must be dry and clean.
• Designed for wooden buildings and constructions without contact with the ground corresponding to the ČSN EN 335-1 standard, classes 2 and 3.
  • Parts of buildings without dimensional stability – wooden facades, pergolas, fences, garage spaces, garden houses, etc.
  • Parts of buildings with limited dimensional stability – wooden shutters, window frames, garden screens, etc.
• Usable at temperatures of 10-30 °C.
• Applicable to vertical wooden surfaces.
• In case of dirt, grease or mold – clean the wood with Rubio Monocoat Exterior Wood Cleaner. Dilute the cleanerwith water in a ratio of 1 : 10. After cleaning of the wood, rinse the surface well with clean water and let it dry. Read the product's data sheet before use.

A) Application to new wood

1. Prepare the surface of the wood (planing, sanding, brushing...)
2. Remove dust thoroughly.
3. Mix Rubio WoodCream well before using (do not dilute with anything).
4. Apply evenly to vertical surface with a flat brush designed for waterborne products. Coat the wood in the direction of the wood grain. For tiling, proceed in sections – paint 3-4 boards at the same time. It is better to perform wet-to-wet coating. The last stroke of the brush should cover the whole lenth of the board.
5. If you want to achieve a richer and more covering appearance, you can apply a second layer (after 3 hours). Since the first layer will already have a water-repellent effect, the second coat will be a bit hard to apply. We recommend to cover each area several times with soft, long strokes.

B)  Rubio WoodCream's renovation or revival

1. Clean the surface with water and a soft brush (do not use pressure cleaning). The surface does not need to be sanded.
2. Let the wood dry.
3. Mix Rubio WoodCream well and mix Rubio WoodCream Softener in a ratio of 9 : 1 (9 parts WoodCream and 1 part WoodCream Softener). You can dilute the Creamup to a ratio of 1 : 1 according to the desired color shade.
4. Apply evenly to vertical surface with a flat brush designed for waterborne products. Coat the wood in the direction of the wood grain. For tiling, proceed in sections – paint 3-4 boards at the same time. It is better to perform wet-to-wet coating. The last stroke of the brush should cover the whole lenth of the board.

C)  For renovation of older coatings (other than Rubio WoodCream)

1. In case of dirt, grease or mold – clean the wood with Rubio Monocoat Exterior Wood Cleaner. Dilute the preparation with water in a ratio of 1 : 10. After cleaning the wood, rinse the surface well with clean water and let it dry. Read the product data sheet before use.
2. Remove all loose parts of previous coatings and unstable parts of the wood (by sanding or brushing with a steel brush).
3. Remove dust thoroughly – you can wipe the surface with a damp cloth and let it dry.
4. Apply Rubio WoodCream evenly to vertical surface with a flat brush designed for water-based products. Coat the wood in the direction of the wood grain. For tiling, proceed in sections – paint 3-4 boards at the same time. It is better to perform wet-to-wet coating. The last stroke of the brush should cover the whole lenth of the board.
5. The gloss of new and old coating can differ. In which case apply one more coat.

Tips and tricks:

• Use only RMC products for surface preparation.
• The product must not be diluted with anything under any circumstances, except recommendation above.
• Stir the WoddCream well.
• Never perform coating at direct sunlight and at temperatures below 10 °C. Work in dry weather only.
• Do not cover the surface or place heavy objects on it until the WoodCream is cured.
