Ing. Michal Novák, adhesive developer at Synpo Pardubice
“Our customers have been using Veropal 14 very successfully for several years in the production of various resistant components and for bonding large gaps. Reliability at temperatures around 120°C is exceptional – no joint release even under long-term stress. Thixotropic properties allow bonding even in vertical positions without sagging. It is important to maintain the exact 2:1 mixing ratio and curing conditions – then the result is always perfect."
✨ HOW VEROPAL 14 WORKS
Veropal 14 is a two-component epoxy system that uses a chemical reaction between the resin (component A) and hardener (component B) to create a strong, resistant bond.
🔬 How thixotropy works
Thixotropy means that the adhesive is a thick paste at rest, but becomes more fluid during mixing or application. The result = perfect gap filling without sagging.
🛠️ STEP-BY-STEP APPLICATION
1. Surface preparation:
• Degrease with LV PC 213 industrial degreaser
• Mechanical roughening for the strongest bonds
• Surfaces must be dry before application
2. Mixing and application:
• Mix in a 2:1 ratio (component A : component B)
• Cartridge with static mixers = ready to use
• Apply to prepared surfaces within 20 minutes
3. Joint optimisation:
• Thickness 0.05-0.15 mm for maximum strength
• Fix with pressure during curing
• 24-hour cure at room temperature
💡 FOR INDUSTRY:
• Robotic application for serial production

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNINGS
🚫 DO NOT USE ON:
• Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) without pre-treatment
• Teflon and other non-stick surfaces
• Wet or greasy surfaces
⚠️ WARNING:
Maintain the exact 2:1 mixing ratio – an incorrect ratio will significantly reduce bond strength
Use protective equipment – gloves, goggles, ventilation
Store at 15-25°C, protect from frost and direct sunlight
✅ IMPORTANT TIPS:
• For maximum strength, use an adhesive thickness of 0.05-0.15 mm
• Mechanical surface roughening increases strength by up to 30%
• Fix the joint with appropriate pressure during the first 24 hours
• To accelerate curing, you can temper at 50-60°C

❓ Frequently Asked Questions:
❓ Does Veropal 14 really withstand temperatures up to 120°C?
Yes, Veropal 14 is tested for long-term resistance up to 120°C. At this temperature, it retains its strength and chemical resistance. For short-term exposure, it can withstand even higher temperatures.
❓ How long does complete curing take?
Basic strength is reached after 24 hours at 23°C. For maximum strength, we recommend waiting 7 days. Curing can be accelerated by tempering at 50-60°C.
❓ Can I use the adhesive on electronic components?
Yes, Veropal 14 is ideal for electronics. It has excellent dielectric properties and shows no conductivity. It is used in industry for bonding sensitive electronic components, drone components, etc.
❓ What do thixotropic properties mean?
Thixotropy means that the adhesive is a thick paste at rest, but becomes more fluid when mixed. Benefit: it does not drip even on vertical surfaces, while still perfectly filling gaps.
❓ What is the exact mixing ratio?
The mixing ratio is 2:1 (component A : component B), both by weight and by volume. Maintaining this ratio precisely is critical for achieving maximum bond strength.
❓ Can I fill gaps larger than 5 mm?
The recommended maximum thickness is 5 mm for optimal properties. At greater thicknesses, cracking may occur due to shrinkage during curing.
❓ Is the adhesive resistant to oils and fuels?
Yes, Veropal 14 has exceptional chemical resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and many other chemicals. That is why it is ideal for the automotive and aerospace industries.
❓ How long can I work with the adhesive after mixing?
The working time is 60 minutes at 25°C (for a 100g mixture). At higher temperatures, the time is shorter; at lower temperatures, it is longer.
❓ Do I need special tools for application?
No, the cartridge has an integrated bayonet mixer. Just screw it on, press and apply. For precise dosing, you can use an application gun.
❓ How should I store an unused cartridge?
Store at 15-25°C in a dry place, protected from frost and direct sunlight. An unopened cartridge lasts 2 years. After opening, use as soon as possible.
❓ Is the adhesive safe for health?
It is safe when safety precautions are followed. Use gloves, goggles and ensure ventilation. It has a low VOC content and contains no solvents.
